Collection: Handbags | Totes | Clutches

Created using the wet felting process primarily but also include needle felting to complete.

Handbags are seamless; accomplished by using a resist.  A pattern for the finished bag is cut from a thin foam or 1 ml plastic. The wool is laid on both sides and the sides are overlapped to  create the continuous fabric.  After the wet felting process starts to buckle the piece I cut an opening and remove the resist.  Edges are finished with 'palming', the sides are massaged to smooth any crease.

Throughout the process there is rolling hundreds of times to facilitate the wool fibers to migrate together with water and olive oil soap. After the wool is firm and connected it is 'fulled', a process to shock the fibers more by massaging, rubbing against a textured surface, tossing, all while closely monitoring the shrinkage and shape.

Much is in your control as you create a piece; however, the wool and other fibers also have a say in how it will turn out.  This is what makes this process so magical!
